Duo Fabric Beds - Two-Tone Designer Beds, Handcrafted in Yorkshire

A duo fabric bed pairs two contrasting fabrics on a single frame - typically a richer material such as plush velvet on the headboard teamed with a neutral weave or linen-look on the base - to create a considered, two-tone look that has more depth than a single-finish bed. It is a designer touch that makes the bed feel styled rather than simply upholstered.

Every duo fabric bed in this collection is handcrafted to order in our Yorkshire workshop and built on a solid hardwood frame. The two-fabric approach lets you bring in a colour or texture you love on the headboard, where it reads most strongly, and balance it with a quieter finish on the base so the overall bed sits calmly in the room. Choose a tall buttoned or panel headboard, add drawers or an ottoman gas-lift base for storage, and select your finishes to suit your scheme.

Each duo fabric bed is made to standard UK sizes - small single (2'6"), single (3'), small double (4'), double (4'6"), king (5') and super king (6') - with bespoke sizing available for non-standard rooms. Because every bed is made to order, you can refine the fabric pairing until it is exactly right, and the whole bed carries our 10-year guarantee, free UK delivery and a 100-night sleep trial. Order free fabric swatches first to compare the two finishes in your own light.

The secret to a successful two-tone bed is contrast with restraint. A deep velvet headboard against a soft neutral base gives you a focal point without the bed shouting, and it ties in easily with bedding and curtains in either tone. As a rule, pick one fabric to lead - usually the headboard, because that is what you see first - and let the second fabric support it. Swatches are genuinely worth ordering here, because two fabrics that look as if they will pair well on screen can read very differently in your room's light, and a side-by-side comparison at home takes the guesswork out of the decision.
