Our duo fabric beds bring two tones together on one headboard, pairing a main colour with a second shade to create a two tone look that adds depth without busy detail. How the two-tone look works

On a duo fabric bed, the headboard is upholstered in two coordinated colours rather than one. A dominant shade covers the main panel while a second tone picks out the headboard's lines, highlighting its shape and letting you tie two parts of your room's palette together in a single piece of furniture. The contrast is what does the work: it frames the headboard and gives the eye somewhere to land.

Because the second tone is part of the design from the outset rather than applied as an afterthought, the finished bed reads as intentional and cohesive. It is also a practical way to bridge colours already in the room — echoing a wall shade on the main panel and a curtain or rug tone on the contrast, for instance.

Two colours, your choice of fabric

The duo treatment is available across our main fabric families, including Plush Velvet, Crushed Velvet, Crushed Ice, Chenille, Naples, Coniston and Dumfries. You can keep things consistent by pairing two colours in the same fabric — a grey plush velvet headboard with a silver velvet contrast, for example — which lets the contrast come purely from shade while the texture stays uniform. Building your colour pairing

With the full colour range to draw on, the pairing is where you get creative. Grey and silver, navy and grey, or black and grey are classic, easy-to-live-with combinations; cream and mustard, beige and teal, or mink and champagne are softer and more distinctive; and pairing a neutral with an emerald green, pink or maroon lets you introduce a single shot of colour while keeping the overall look grounded. White, mocha and brown round out the options.

Sizes, storage and headboard height

Duo fabric beds are available across the full size range — Single (3ft), Small Double (4ft), Double (4ft6), King (5ft) and Super King (6ft) — and the two-tone finish carries across every size.

Depending on the base you choose, storage can be added as a gas-lift ottoman base that lifts to reveal the interior, or as divan drawers in a 2-drawer, 4-drawer or footend-drawer layout. The duo colouring follows the headboard whichever base you select.

Headboard height is the last choice, with 48", 54" floor-standing and 60" options in the range. A taller headboard simply gives the two-tone treatment more surface to work with.
