A single bed measures 3ft in width — the most compact of the standard UK sizes — and is built on the same made-to-order framework as the rest of the range. That means a single is not a stripped-back version of a bigger bed: you get the same headboard styles, the same fabric families and the same storage options, simply scaled to fit a smaller footprint. Those compact single bed dimensions make a single equally at home against a wall in a spare room or as part of a child's first proper bed. For a solo sleeper in a compact bedroom, a 3ft single leaves far more usable floor space than a double, which is why it remains a go-to for flats and smaller bedrooms.

Storage that suits a smaller room

Storage can matter all the more in a box room. Depending on the base, a single bed can be specified with a gas-lift ottoman base that lifts to reveal the interior, or with divan drawers in a 2-drawer, 4-drawer or footend-drawer arrangement — useful for keeping bedding, toys or out-of-season clothing out of sight. Headboard height options of 48", 54" floor-standing and 60" are available across the range, though in a compact room a lower headboard often keeps the proportions feeling right.
